In My Bag

Any social butterfly knows that having the right evening bag filled with all of the essentials is the key to a successful night of party-hopping.

One of my favorite bags of the season is by my friend and designer Rafe Totengco. Originally created for Eva Longoria (in a darker shade of silver) to give to her bridesmaids at her wedding, the Koh Samui Sasha is a snakeskin clutch with faceted rhinestone detail. The silver gives just the right amount of “pop” to any outfit.

The best part is that it’s roomier than it looks so I can pack it with all my “must-haves”: Stella McCartney’s roll-on perfume, Shu Uemura powder and lipstick (#789 - the perfect shade of sheer plum), blotting papers, Certs mints, Shout wipes (my secret weapon stain buster), business cards and my Amex.

Fresh off New York Fashion Week, we asked some of our most stylish and social friends what bag they would be carrying this events season and the essentials they would not leave home without…

Annie Churchill

The Bag: Gucci Crystal evening clutch in black. It goes perfectly with everything. The style is so current yet classic!

Essentials: Altoids, Chanel lipgloss and sometimes my vitamins if I forgot to take them that day!

Jennifer Zuccarini
creative director, Kiki de Montparnasse

The Bag: Stella McCartney clutch with crystals, because hot pink is my new favorite color.

Essentials: Nars lipstick in Schiap (shocking pink lipstick to match my new bag), Kiki de Montparnasse “Before & After” mints (because you never know where you might end up later in the night), Robert Piquet Fracas 1oz. mini fragrance, Bourjois black liquid eyeliner, and lots of cash.

The Bag: the Natasha bag by Kooba. It’s brilliant and adjustable (like me) from day to evening or, for the naughty monkeys, evening to day.

Essentials: Now, what item can I not live without? My Blackberry, business cards and lip gloss. That’s three items but, trust me, I can take your number, give you my card and reapply all at once!

Deborah Williamson
co-founder, Williamson Calvert catering

The Bag: the Daphne clutch by Brian Atwood. It’s gorgeous and perfect for a night out.

Essentials: My trusty Treo 755, Ted Gibson Hair Sheets, Bigelow Mentha Lip Gloss (minty fresh and perfectly glossy), double stick tape (for any fashion emergencies) and orange Tic Tacs.
