Eco-Chic Martini

Created exclusively for our green cocktail party, the delicious Eco-Chic Martini is made from healthy berries, fresh organic juices and Reyka, a vodka made in Iceland from pure water in a distillery powered by geothermal steam. It’s considered the most eco-friendly vodka in the world. Here’s the secret recipe so you can start saving the planet, one martini at a time…

INGREDIENTS
2.5 oz Reyka Vodka
1 oz Goji Berry Syrup*
1 oz Fresh Organic Lemon Juice (or “365 Everyday Whole Foods Lemon Juice”, but use a touch less)
0.5 oz Organic Orange Juice
Dash of Red Lillet

MIXING NOTES
Combine all ingredients in an iced shaker.
Shake and strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with one white organic rose petal with an organic blueberry on top and lemon zest

*To make the Goji Berry Syrup, combine following in shallow pan:
2 bags of dried goji berries (wolfberries)
1 jar Hero Swiss black current jam
Filtered water (enough to cover contents of pan)
Zest of orange
Zest of lemon
Zest of grapefruit
2 whole star anise
Handful of whole, dried hibiscus
2 pinches of dried lavender
2 pinches of powered cinnamon
Cook on low heat until the berries are plump and the mixture takes
on a uniform consistency. Strain all of the ingredients well until
only a syrup remains. Let cool and keep refrigerated.

Created by Lisa Novella Rodasta exclusively for Notesonaparty.com, this cocktail was inspired by goji berries, (similar to red dates but more tart) which are supposed to be good for the eyes. When combined with black currrants, fresh juices, the bitterness of Red Lillet and sweet, warm spices, the berries play the perfect foil to the ultra-pure, eco-friendly Reyka Vodka. Petals, from Organic Bouquet white roses that were left-over by the floral designer, became garnishes for the martinis. An organic blueberry anchored the petal while a zest of lemon added a dash of contrasting color.
