Sweet Charity

Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month is now as easy as pie. Or, should we say dessert

Starting today, B.R. Guest Restaurants will donate 75% of the proceeds from 4 specialty desserts to benefit the Breast Treatment Task Force (BTTF), a groundbreaking program, which provides free surgeries and treatment to patients without access to health insurance.

Founded by Janice Zaballero (pictured here with Board Member, Chris Lytle), BTTF mobilizes surgeons to donate breast surgeries and pharmaceutical companies to donate chemotherapy treatments while the organization provides funds to patients to pay for hospital care.

From October 1st to 31st, B.R. Guest patrons can support BTTF simply by visiting any of the following 13 participating restaurants to order these charitable sweets:

Dos Caminos (All Locations): Strawberry and White Chocolate Bamba

Ocean Grill, Blue Water Grill, Isabella’s and Ruby Foo’s (All locations): Raspberry Buttercream Jaconde

Blue Fin: Pink Grapefruit and White Chocolate Torte (with Pink Grapefruit Sherbert)

Primehouse, Wildwood, and Vento: Pink Pomegranate Profiteroles

The fundraising promotion was announced at a recent BTTF benefit chaired by Karrie Goldberg of Kage Konsulting and sponsored by Glaceau, Pipeline Brands and B.R. Guest. Notable guests from the medical, publishing, media and music communities including Dr. Harold P. Freeman (Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care), Beth Brenner (Domino), Kristen Shaughnessy, (Anchor, NY 1) and Leslie Dalton (Warner Music) gathered at Room Service to celebrate the organization’s success at treating this disease.
