The Whimsical Potter | Frances Palmer

Frances Palmer Vases

There is a certain beauty in imperfections, especially when it comes to the handmade pieces of American potter, Frances Palmer.  Based in Connecticut, Palmer is known for her irreverently shaped tableware and accessories including vases, footed bowls and cake plates all adorned with whimsical details.  For private clients, Palmer throws each piece by hand in her studio resulting in truly unique designs that can be used as functional tableware as well as art.

The Frances Palmer Pearl Collection, which includes everyday dining and serving pieces, is a collaboration between the artist and a leading manufacturer.  Created from molds taken from her hand, the pieces are finished individually in order to maintain their slight irregularities, yet have the durability of high quality china.  The tea service (shown below) including tea cups ($25), creamer ($35), sugar bowl ($35) and tea pot ($175) are particularly charming and come in blue, black, white and honeydew.
