Thanksgiving Treats

Sprinkles CupcakesThanksgiving dinner may be filled with cherished family recipes but it doesn’t mean you can’t get a little inventive when it comes to dessert.

This year instead of baking yet another apple pie, why not bring one of these original harvest treats?  They might just inspire a new holiday tradition…

The Eat Box by Sprinkles ($36/dozen), available through November 29, 2009, comes with their classic Dark Chocolate cupcakes and an assortment of seasonal flavors including Ginger Maple, Pumpkin and Orange Cranberry which are topped with adorable turkey and autumnal sugar decorations.

Three Tarts Bakery has a gorgeous, hand-decorated set of Autumn Petits Fours ($29.50/box of 16) made from almond cake with apricot filling for the adults of the house and a cute vanilla Marshmallow Turkey ($2.95 each) covered with toasted coconut for the kids.

An American tradition since the 1950’s, caramel apples are a Fall favorite.  The Chocolate Caramel Apples from Dean & Deluca ($48/four) are made with tart Granny Smith apples, butter rich caramel and covered in dark or Belgian chocolate.
